What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is an innovative orthodontic treatment that uses a series of clear, removable aligners to straighten your teeth gradually.

The aligners are made to fit your unique dental structure and are designed to shift your teeth into place over time. You’ll wear the aligners for about 18-22 hours a day and switch them every 1-2 weeks.

Invisalign is ideal for professionals, adults and even teenagers who want a discreet way to improve their smile.

The best part? The aligners are removable, so you can enjoy meals, drinks and cleaning your teeth without any hassle.

In fact, recent advancements have made Invisalign a great option for children as young as 6 years old with surprisingly positive results!

The process begins with a detailed 3D digital scan of your teeth, allowing me to create a customised treatment plan for you.

“I couldn’t be happier”

Thank you Dr. Pitsis and your team for doing an amazing job on my teeth, had Invisalign for about a year and a half and couldn’t be happier with the final results. Everyone was so lovely and kind, and patient.

What Type of Dental Issues Can Invisalign Treat?

Invisalign can address various dental issues, including:

CROWDING

If your teeth are too close together, Invisalign can help create space and align them properly.

SPACING

Gaps between teeth? Invisalign can close those gaps, providing a more uniform smile.

OVERBITE

When your upper front teeth overlap your lower teeth, Invisalign can gradually correct the alignment.

OPENBITE

When your top and bottom teeth don’t meet at all, Invisalign can correct this in most cases better than with braces.

OCCLUSAL PLANE CANT

When your teeth slope up when smiling, Invisalign can also correct this in most cases better than with braces.

OVERJET

This occurs when your top teeth extend too far out over the lower ones—Invisalign helps adjust this to improve your bite.

CROSSBITE

A crossbite happens when your upper teeth bite inside your lower teeth, which can affect your bite and jaw alignment. Invisalign can help reposition the teeth for better aesthetics and function.

“He is a perfectionist”

Dr Pitsis was also able to correct my large open bite in such a short amount of time, which I didn’t even know was possible – he is a perfectionist. Thank you to the whole team.
JANE SKINNER

“I’m confident in my smile”

My teeth had moved since having my wisdom teeth out, and as I’d aged they were getting worse. Dr Pitsis recommended a course of treatment with Invisalign. What a difference. My teeth are straight, I’m confident in my smile and not self conscious as I was before.

Why Choose Invisalign Over Braces?

Invisalign offers several advantages over traditional braces, including:

Comfort

The aligners are smooth, so you won’t have to worry about irritating your mouth as you would with braces. This also means you can wear them whilst playing most sports, including contact sports.

Convenience

The aligners are removable, meaning you can easily clean your teeth and eat whatever you like.

Discreet

The clear aligners are nearly invisible, so you can straighten your teeth without anyone noticing.

Flexibility

You can take out your aligners for important events, making them perfect for busy professionals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Invisalign treatment can take between 6 to 24 months, depending on your individual case and sometimes even longer.

Yes, just simply remove the aligners before eating. If you are drinking anything sugary or acidic, you will need to remove them.

While there may be slight discomfort when switching aligners, most patients find it much more comfortable than traditional braces.

Visits are usually required every 8-16 weeks to monitor your progress. All your aligners are given to you from the beginning.

There may be a slight adjustment period, but most patients speak normally after the first few minutes.

Use a soft brush and toothpaste, or an ultrasonic cleaning pod, to keep them clear and hygienic. You can also place antibacterial cleaning tablets in the ultrasonic pods or in a cup.

Invisalign is available for children as young as 6, teenagers and adults alike. Dr Pitsis provides specialised treatment plans for all age groups.

Invisalign costs vary depending on your specific needs. On average, treatment ranges from $5,000 to $15,000 at our practice.

Many insurance providers cover Invisalign under orthodontic benefits. Our team can help you navigate your health insurance and payment options.

Some health funds give you a bigger rebate if you are treated by a specialist orthodontist.

Most patients notice a difference within the first few weeks of treatment.

Invisalign Pricing with Dr Andrew Pitsis

The cost of Invisalign varies based on the complexity of your treatment.

Typically, prices range from $5,000 to $15,000, depending on factors like how long the treatment will take and how many visits are required.

I’ll give you an accurate cost during your initial consultation, based on your dental needs and goals. We offer flexible payment options, including interest-free plans, to make your treatment more affordable.

Invisalign and Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Invisalign also uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to treat you faster, more effectively and in less time, with fewer visits.

I provide special lip retractors so you can take photos of your aligners on your teeth every 1-2 weeks when you feel ready to change them.

You then upload these photos to the Invisalign App, where the AI, an Invisalign technician, my Oral Health Therapist and I will review them to decide if you’re ready to move on to the next aligner.

This is a fantastic option for those planning long holidays or living interstate or overseas, as many of my patients do. Instead of visiting every 6-8 weeks, your appointments may be scheduled every 8-16 weeks, or even longer.

Additionally, Invisalign’s mandibular advancement can help move the lower jaw forward during a child’s growth, avoiding the need for surgery once the growth is finished.

Invisalign Palatal Expanders (IPE) NEW!

Introduced last year, are designed to expand your palate faster and more comfortably without the use of metal and screws.

I’m proud to be the most experienced orthodontist in Australia when it comes to treating children with IPE—having treated more children with this technique than any other orthodontist in the Australia-Pacific region.
